About GOOD SHEPHERD

We are a Salty church.

Because Jesus said: You are the salt of the earth. Salt preserves. Salt flavors. Salt makes a difference. That’s what we’re here to do—together.

Our Core Values

Jesus calls His followers the salt of the earth. At Good Shepherd, we embrace that calling through five core values, spelling SALTY.

Servant Driven
We see a need and choose to serve.

All Generations
We believe God works powerfully through every generation.

Life Together
We walk through life together, not alone.

Transformational Faith
We believe faith changes everything.

Yield to the Spirit
We follow where the spirit leads, not our own plans.

Why salt?

To be Servant Driven

At Good Shepherd, when we see a need we choose to serve. Riley’s story highlights how being Servant Driven shapes the way we care for one another and live out our faith. See how ordinary acts of service create extraordinary impact in our church and community.

To value All Generations

At Good Shepherd, we believe God works powerfully through every generation. Linda and Jace’s story shows how an All Generations friendship between can bring new life, comfort, and joy. See how faith grows stronger when generations walk together, sharing wisdom, curiosity, and the love of Christ.

To live Life Together

At Good Shepherd, we don’t walk through life alone. Jim and Kirstie’s story shows how Life Together becomes real when a church family stands beside you in seasons of uncertainty. Through prayer, honesty, and deep relationships formed over decades, they experienced the strength of Christ working through community—right when they needed it most.

To be Transformed by faith

At Good Shepherd, faith isn’t just a belief — it transforms lives. Mark and Sinia’s story shows how a child’s simple trust in Jesus can open the door for an entire family to encounter Him. Through the joy and witness of their daughter Jessie, God led their family into a deeper walk with Christ and a new beginning through baptism.

To Yield to the Spirit

At Good Shepherd, Yield to the Spirit means trusting God’s plan over our own—because we believe faith changes everything. A’s story shows how surrendering control opens the door to God’s perfect timing. Through unexpected moves, open doors, and quiet moments of faith, he discovered the freedom that comes when we let the Spirit lead.

Our Mission

To know Jesus deeply, live life authentically, and lead others to Him.

Following Jesus isn’t about checking boxes—it’s about a real relationship with Him that transforms every part of our lives. We’re learning to be honest about who we are, walk alongside one another in community, and share the hope of Christ wherever God places us.

Our Beliefs

Our beliefs are best expressed by the Church's foundational creeds:

  • I believe in God, the Father almighty,
        creator of heaven and earth;

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
        He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
        He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
        He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
        the holy catholic Church,
        the communion of saints,
        the forgiveness of sins
        the resurrection of the body,
        and the life everlasting. Amen.

  • We believe in one God,
        the Father, the Almighty,
        maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
        the only Son of God,
        eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
        true God from true God,
        begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
            he came down from heaven:
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit
            and the virgin Mary
            and became truly human.
        For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
                in accordance with the Scriptures;
            he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge
    the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

These creeds are statements of our fundamental beliefs about God. In reciting and affirming them, we join Christians worldwide and throughout the ages in declaring our faith in the one God who creates, redeems, and sanctifies us.
